Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, made headlines on Thursday after a viral video showed him proposing to Edo State House of Assembly member, Natasha Osarawu.
This proposal comes just a day after the singer sparked social media frenzy with an Instagram video confirming his romantic relationship with the lawmaker.
In the video, a visibly excited 2Baba embraced Natasha, showered her with money, and danced with her before pulling out a ring and placing it on her finger. Friends and well-wishers gathered around, cheering the couple on.
2Baba’s confirmation of his relationship with Natasha Osarawu came shortly after announcing his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia.
Amid growing speculation about his connection with the Edo lawmaker, the singer made an appearance at the Edo State House of Assembly on Monday. However, in a video posted early Wednesday morning, he set the record straight, declaring his intention to marry Osarawu.
He also clarified that their relationship had nothing to do with the marital issues between him and Annie.
“I said what I said. All of us will be alright… Honourable Natasha has been dragged and called all sorts of names. She has been labeled a home breaker, but she is a young, brilliant, and amazing woman,” 2Baba stated.
“She has nothing to do with what’s happening between Annie and me, but I see people trying to drag her into it. Yes, I love her. She’s amazing, she’s cool, and I want to marry her,” he further emphasized.
