Minor Collapses in Court as Nigerian Government Arraigns 76 #EndBadGovernance Protesters

A 15-year-old minor collapsed in court today as the Nigerian government arraigned 76 individuals who participated in the recent #EndBadGovernance protests.

The incident occurred at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where the defendants, mostly minors, were being charged with treason and intent to destabilize the country.

The minor, who was among the defendants, slumped as the charge was about to be read, forcing the judge to halt proceedings and rush the boy to the court’s clinic.

The defendants, who have spent over 80 days in police custody, are facing a 10-count charge for their alleged involvement in the protests.

The protests, which took place between July 31 and August 4, were held in Abuja and Kano metropolis, with participants calling for an end to bad governance in Nigeria.

The Nigerian government has alleged that the defendants conspired to commit a felony and destabilize the country.

The arraignment of the 76 protesters has sparked concerns about the government’s handling of the protests and the treatment of the defendants, mostly minors.
