Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has called for the separation of Nigeria’s ethnic nationalities, citing corruption, insecurity, and economic hardship as reasons for the nation’s struggles.
In a video circulating online on Thursday, Igboho, seen at a UK airport, expressed disappointment in Nigeria’s current state, stating that many citizens are no longer proud to identify as Nigerians.
“Even inside the airport, there is no security. They can steal your belongings inside your bag,” Igboho lamented, referring to Nigerian airports.
He added that such issues discourage patriotism among citizens.
He argued that if Nigeria cannot function as a unified entity, ethnic groups such as the Yoruba should be allowed to establish independent nations.
Igboho highlighted that many Yoruba youths, having gained global exposure, are well-equipped to transform the Yoruba nation into a thriving and modern society akin to those in Europe.
“Our youths will transform Yoruba land. They have learned a lot from traveling across the world, and the knowledge will help build and develop our nation,” he asserted.
This marks another call for separation from the outspoken activist, who has been a vocal proponent of Yoruba self-determination.
