The chairman, United Bank for Africa, Tony Elumelu recently distributed 1,800 bags of rice to his community, Onicha-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta state.
Represented by the head of media external relations, Nasir Ramon, he said this is the season to show love and as an indigene of the community, Elumelu has remained steadfast in his commitment to empowering communities and changing lives.
Representatives from traditional royal council , different quarters, community leaders, Christian association of Nigeria, college of Nursing, youth groups amongst others had gathered in his residence where the distribution was done orderly without any stampede.
“Today, we gather to celebrate the spirit of Christmas, a season of love, kindness, and generosity. It is a testament to the deep commitment of the love I have for my people. My vision is for a better and brighter future for all and to continue to impact lives right here in my hometown.”

His Royal Majesty (HRM) Obi Raphael Okonkwo Agbamuche, The Obi of Onicha Uku kingdom commended Mr Tony Elumelu for his humanitarian service to mankind, adding that he has started celebrating the Christmas as the rice distributed.
The Onihe of the Community, Mr Ephraim Osubor spoke on behalf of the community commending Mr Tony Elumelu and the Elumelu family for the love giving to the Community in this festive session.
They also reflected on the immense contributions of the renowned banker and philanthropist towards the development of Onicha Uku and other communities in the area, Nigeria, Africa, and world at large.
