More than 800 homes in Etomi, Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State, will soon benefit from a newly completed mini-grid solar power project funded by the European Union.
Cross River’s Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Eka Williams, announced during a site visit on Saturday that the 196-kilowatt-hour Jinko power house mini-grid solar farm, equipped with a 119-kilowatt capacity, is now fully operational.
“All stages of the project have been successfully completed, and the solar farm is ready to provide electricity to the community,” Williams said.
He emphasized that the project not only improves energy access in Etomi but also aligns with the state’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainable development.
