Act of Cruelty: Lagosians Describes Fuel Price Hike

Nigerians have expressed their dissatisfaction over scarcity of fuel and how it has turned things bad for them most especially the struggle to get bus and increase in transport fare.

In recent information, Lagosians who can not do without going out daily in a conversation with our Corespondent, expressed their dissatisfaction with the current government decision.

According to oluwanishola, she stated that the decision was an act of cruelty.

She added that the government made decisions without thinking of the effect of their decision making .

In her words” honestly, it doesn’t make sense to me”.

Although some marketers had already raised the price of fuel in their outlets, they admitted that the move had not been approved by the government, noting that dealers could be sanctioned for selling above the regulated rate.

Heavy fuel queues were seen in the few filling stations that sold petrol at the approved rate on Tuesday.

In another interview with another person who has chosen to be anonymous,said that there is actually no tangible reason for this fuel scarcity and not to talk about the traffic it has resulted to.

In his words “I don’t know how the government will implement some things without thinking of the negative effects “.

Adeniyi joy, an entrepreneur who runs her own private business said, “This is just too much and unreasonable.

In her words she said ” maintaining her frozen food business hasn’t been an easy one as the power supply has been unstable plus this recent fuel scarcity, I can’t even get fuel to buy to ice what I’m selling”

Oriyomi Victoria, a commercial bus passenger said the increment in bus fare is something else,in her words, she said ” You can’t believe that instead of the usual N150 from Igando to Iyana ipaja, I paid N400. Now I’m going to Ikeja and the drivers are saying it is N300 instead of N150.”

They hereby urged the Federal government to find a lasting solution as soon as possible.
