Ajuri Ngelale Steps Down as Special Adviser to President Tinubu

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, has resigned from his role with immediate effect, citing medical issues affecting his family.

In a statement issued by the Presidency on Saturday, Ngelale disclosed that he had submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, informing him of his decision to proceed on indefinite leave.

Ngelale also announced that he had stepped down as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.

“On Friday, I submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President informing my office that I am proceeding on an indefinite leave of absence to frontally deal with medical matters presently affecting my immediate nuclear family,” Ngelale said in his statement.

He explained that the decision to resign was made after extensive consultations with his family due to a worsening medical situation at home.
Ngelale emphasized that while he understands the urgency of state affairs, his family’s health matters require his full attention at this time.

Ngelale concluded by expressing his hope to return to national service when circumstances allow and requested privacy for his family during this period.

The Presidency has not yet announced a replacement for Ngelale’s roles.
