APC Chieftain Defends Seyi Tinubu’s Humanitarian Efforts Amid Backlash

Isaac Balami, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and youth advocate, has come to the defense of Seyi Tinubu, saying his recent tour of northern Nigeria was a genuine humanitarian effort, not a politically motivated move.

According to Balami, Seyi Tinubu’s outreach was done in the spirit of Ramadan and was not driven by political ambitions. He noted that Tinubu has been involved in philanthropic work for over a decade, long before his father, President Bola Tinubu, took office.

Balami accused some individuals of misrepresenting Seyi Tinubu’s intentions, pointing out that his acts of kindness have never been selective or influenced by political affiliations. He cited examples of Tinubu’s charitable work, including supporting individuals across party lines and covering medical bills for an “Obidient” youth who campaigned against his father.

The APC chieftain expressed concern that Seyi Tinubu’s gestures were being unfairly scrutinized, while similar charitable efforts by other prominent figures were not being politicized. He urged Nigerians to look beyond political distractions and appreciate genuine efforts to foster unity and support the less privileged.

Balami’s defense of Seyi Tinubu comes amid growing criticism of the latter’s northern tour, with some accusing him of using the trip to boost his political profile. However, Balami insisted that Seyi Tinubu’s continued acts of service should be seen as an inspiration to young Nigerians, rather than a target for political attacks.
