APGA Dares Atiku To Provide Evidence Of APC’s 50m Bribe To Opposition Parties

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called on former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to substantiate his recent claim that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) offers N50 million bribes to opposition parties. Atiku made this allegation while speaking as a panelist at a national conference in Abuja.

Atiku warned that Nigeria’s democracy could be at risk if the alleged practice continued.

In response to his claim, APGA’s Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, issued a statement on Thursday, challenging the former Vice President to provide concrete evidence to support his allegation. Opara criticized Atiku for “spreading unfounded rumors that only serve to heat up the polity.”

The statement reads: “APGA feels compelled to address the baseless allegation made by former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who claims that the ruling APC is bribing opposition parties with N50 million.”

“We strongly condemn this assertion, as it lacks any proof or substance. It is regrettable that Atiku has resorted to spreading baseless rumors, which only serve to inflame tensions and undermine Nigeria’s democratic process. If Atiku is truly committed to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy, we challenge him to provide concrete details of the opposition parties that allegedly received the N50 million bribe. He must either back up his claims with evidence or remain silent.”

“Therefore, we call on Atiku to name names, present evidence, and substantiate his allegations. Anything less is mere political grandstanding that Nigerians will not take seriously.”
