The Lagos State Environmental Taskforce has arrested 74 individuals during a clean-up enforcement operation in key areas of Lekki, Lagos Island.
The operation, which began at 1:00 a.m., targeted hotspots known for disorderly conduct and environmental violations.
The taskforce covered several areas, including: Falomo Bridge, Eko Hotel Roundabout, Oniru Beach, Nigerian Law School, Lekki Phase 1 and 1004 Estate
Out of the 74 individuals arrested, 72 were men and two were women. The suspects will be charged in court accordingly.
According to Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the operation aimed to restore sanity, order, and cleanliness in the affected locations.
The taskforce’s efforts are part of the state’s initiatives to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
