Mrs. Shimitte Love, Special Adviser to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Trade and Export, has been confirmed dead under unclear circumstances.
Fingers are pointing to her husband, Pastor Love, as potentially being involved in her death, although the exact details are still unknown.
The Delta State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed Mrs. Love’s death, stating that she was pronounced dead at a hospital she was taken to. According to Edafe, the police did not arrest Pastor Love but took him into protective custody after he reported receiving threats from his wife’s family.
Edafe explained, “We didn’t arrest her husband. He is in protective custody. The husband was the one who called to say that his wife died early this morning, that he is receiving threats from the wife’s family and that there is fear that they want to attack him.” The police spokesperson added that the wife’s family later arrived to lodge an official complaint, suspecting the husband’s involvement in her death.
An investigation is underway, with Edafe noting that an autopsy will be necessary to determine the cause of death. “In cases like this, it is only an autopsy that will determine whether it was natural or if there was something else,” he said. The police are working to uncover the truth behind Mrs. Love’s sudden death.
