‘El-Rufai’s Visit Is Over The Issue With The Senate’- Presidency

NIGERIA- Former governor of Kaduna state, El-Rufai visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday after the Senate declined to ratify him as a minister-designate, according to reports. And while Nasir El-Rufai arrived at the Presidential Villa at about 2pm, Nyesom Wike arrived at the Villa at around 1.40pm.

Despite the fact that the purpose for the pair’s visit had not been officially announced, a source at the Presidential Villa reportedly gave a Punch journalist a clue that it had something to do with Nasir El-Rufai’s confirmation as a minister.

The insider said that the visit was related to the Senate problem while requesting anonymity. The two of them are in attendance to discuss the situation with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Although I am unsure of the outcome, I am certain that everything will be resolved.

The insider said that he does not know, but is certain that all would come together soon, when asked when Nasir El-Rufai will probably be approved as a minister by the Senate.

Recall that on Tuesday, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, the Senate’s spokesman, indicated during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily that the Red Chamber may invite the three ministerial candidates who had not yet received confirmation for a second screening.

“The concern raised about them is an ongoing issue,” he said. Therefore, if the Senate is pleased, we will certainly invite them to the chamber for a second confirmation and screening if necessary.
