Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, has once again assured the people of Osun State that they can count on him to deliver good governance if entrusted with people’s mandate to serve and given the party’s ticket for the 2026 election.
The Insurance guru and leading APC Governorship aspirant emphasized this in Ila and Ifedayo Local government during the tour of local governments in Osun Central, starting with Ila and Ifedayo Local government.
The meeting, tagged ‘Interactive Session’ with LG APC Party leaders, ward executives and APEX leaders also had in attendance various stakeholders and prominent sons and daughters of Osun state in Ogunbiyi’s entourage and were warmly received by Mr Adedokun Joseph and Abdulahi Olanrewaju Party Chairmen of Ila LGA & LCDA.
Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, while addressing the leaders spoke about the sensitivity of the coming election cycle as one that will put Osun state on the road map of states with huge investment in Agriculture and Urban renewal, industrialization and Youth employment as often stated in his manifestoes if giving the baton to serve.
He said, “My fidelity is to provide good governance to my people. If you look at my journey, I have not served in any capacity or taken any appointment either as Board Chairman or member of any agency or parastatal yet, I have created 5000 jobs. Very few of us can boast of this incentives without power”.
The energy and commitment of the local communities underscored a shared vision for a prosperous future. Dr. Ogunbiyi’s message resonated deeply with the crowd, highlighting his commitment to transforming Osun from a state largely dependent on civil service to one driven by industrial growth and development.
In his further remarks, Dr. Ogunbiyi urged the party members and the people of Osun to continue their unwavering support for his vision. He expressed his desire to make Osun a model for progressive economic development in Nigeria.
“I am committed to making Osun a hub for industrialization, creating opportunities for our youth, and ensuring sustainable growth,” Dr. Ogunbiyi said. “But I cannot do it alone. I need the support of everyone, our party members, our leaders, and all citizens to build this future together.”
Also addressing APC leaders at the Interactive session in Ila, Barrister Femi Kehinde, a former House Of Representatives member eulogized Chief Bisi Akande and referenced his Prudent and accountable management of financial resources during his tenure as Governor of Osun state. He then described Dr Akin Ogunbiyi as a self-made man who is also prudent and has strong intellectual capacities to develop Osun State for the benefit of the people.
While wooing the leaders for their support and prayers, he further expressed confidence that Ogunbiyi is a man driven by conviction and desire to see a better Osun.
Shortly before meeting with the leaders, the Campaign tour had a stop at the Palace of Orangun Of Ila-Orangun, where they paid homage to Oba Abdulwahab Olukayode Oyedotun Bibiire1, and his chief for royal blessings.
While giving his blessing, Kabiesi described Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, as a gentle, Self-serving and honest politician with strong determination to serve his people. He doesn’t play dirty politics like others.
