Unidentified gunmen suspected to be bandits have kidnapped two nurses and an unspecified number of patients from the Primary Healthcare Centre in Kuyallo, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The incident occurred at around 9:00 am on Monday when the assailants stormed the healthcare facility after failing to find students at a nearby secondary school.
According to Musa Alhassan, a local vigilante leader, the gunmen initially targeted the Government Day Secondary School but found it empty.
Eyewitnesses reported that the armed attackers entered the healthcare centre wielding guns and machetes, dragging people out of the facility. The exact number of patients abducted remains unknown, and the incident has left the local community in panic.
This latest kidnapping comes just days after another bandit attack in a different community in Kaduna State, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region.
The Kaduna State government has yet to issue an official statement on the abduction.
