The ceremony took place on Monday at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, following her confirmation by the Senate on 25 September 2024.
Kekere-Ekun succeeds Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired on 22 August 2024, after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70.
The new CJN had previously served in an acting capacity, having been sworn in on 23 August.
The event was attended by her predecessors, including the first female Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloma Mukhtar, and Justices Mahmud Mohammed, Walter Onnoghen, and Ariwoola, along with her family and other justices of the Supreme Court.
