The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted airstrikes targeting terrorist hideouts in Kaduna and Zamfara States, eliminating several militants responsible for recent attacks in Niger State.
The operation, part of Operation Whirl Punch, was carried out after surveillance flights tracked the terrorists to Malum Forest in Kaduna and Bayan Ruwa in Zamfara.
According to Air Vice Marshal, Edward Gabkwet, Director of NAF Public Relations and Information, the airstrikes effectively neutralized the terrorists and disrupted their operations.
In a related mission, NAF also destroyed over 25 illegal refining sites in the Niger Delta, along with a leaking pipeline causing environmental damage in Rivers State.
