Two Pakistani businessmen at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, were arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The culprits had in their possession eight kilograms of cocaine.
The NDLEA’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.
Mr Babafemi noted that the drugs were concealed in a public address system which the suspects attempted to travel with aboard a Qatar Airways flight to Lahole, Pakistan, via Doha.
He said the suspects, Asif Muhammed, 45, and Hussain Naveed, 57, who hold Nigerian residence permits suspected to be fake, were frequent travellers to Nigeria under the guise of doing textile business.
“They were arrested on Saturday at the Lagos Airport, barely a week after arriving in Nigeria,” he added.
