The Nigerian Army reported the successful neutralization of a Boko Haram commander, Abu Rijab, and two other fighters during an operation in Bula Daloye, Bama Local Government Area, Borno, on Saturday.
This action also led to the surrender of eight terrorists and their families in Gwoza.
During the operation, troops seized two AK-47 rifles, and mobile phones, and apprehended two suspects in Konduga with 52 bags of illicit drugs.
Additionally, in Taraba, the chairman of the Gassol Local Government Area Hunters’ Association was detained for selling an AK-47 rifle to a suspected terrorist.
In Plateau, troops arrested two suspected criminals in Jos North, recovering a fabricated rifle and mobile phones with images of arms and ammunition.
Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, praised the troops for their dedication and thanked the public for their support.
