Operatives of the Onikan Division of the Lagos Police Command have arrested a suspect, Yakubu Yusuf, for allegedly vandalizing a section of the railings on the Third Mainland Bridge.
The Lagos State Police Command disclosed this in a statement posted on X.com (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, revealing that the suspect was caught following a tip-off about vandalism in the area.
According to the statement, Yusuf was apprehended near the Old School of Nursing area of the bridge.
Police officers responded to the report and arrested the 28-year-old suspect, recovering 21 long pieces of aluminum railings in the process.
An investigation is currently underway to apprehend other suspects involved in the vandalism, as some managed to flee the scene.
