Police operatives in Kwara State have rescued a policeman, ASP Ahmed Yusuf, who was kidnapped from his home in Ogidi, in the Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Paul Odama, who confirmed the incident to newsmen on Monday, said that the policeman, a member of the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Team attached to the Kwara State Police Command, was reportedly rescued in a bush at the Kwara and Oyo states border around 2.30am on Sunday.
“The ASP is currently undergoing a medical examination and will be allowed to join his family as soon as he is confirmed fit by the police medical doctor,” he added.
He noted that the police have stepped up investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.
