President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), effective immediately.
Nafiu, who hails from Ileogbo in Osun State, takes over from Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed.
Before his appointment, Nafiu served as Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, and previously held the same role under the late Lt. General Raised Abiodun Lagbaja. A distinguished artillery officer, Nafiu graduated from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the US Army War College. He was also a Directing Staff at the Army War College, Nigeria, before becoming Chief of Staff to the COAS.
As a member of the 47 Regular Course, Nafiu brings a wealth of experience to his new role, and his appointment is seen as a recognition of his dedication and service to the nation.
