President Tinubu Approves 300% Salary Increase for Judicial Officers

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has signed a landmark bill into law that increases salaries and allowances for judicial officials by 300%.

This move highlights Tinubu’s commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerian workers, as stated by his Special Adviser on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado.

The new Act amends the Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.), Act, No.6, 2002, removing previous provisions for judicial office holders and introducing updated compensation to reflect current realities.

This decision follows Tinubu’s recent approval of a new National Minimum Wage Bill of N70,000, demonstrating his prioritization of worker welfare.

Lado emphasized that this increase aims to reinforce the integrity of Nigeria’s justice system and set a new standard for leadership.

He praised the National Assembly for its role in passing the bill, which underscores a patriotic commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians.

The Senate had approved the bill in June, marking a significant step in enhancing the financial well-being of judicial officers and aligning with Tinubu’s broader vision for a more equitable Nigeria.
