President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, appointed Mr. Daniel Bwala, former spokesperson for the Atiku campaign, as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications.
The announcement was made in a statement by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, titled “President Tinubu Appoints Three Directors-General And One Special Adviser On Public Communication.”
In addition to Bwala’s appointment, Tinubu named three other individuals as Directors-General of various federal agencies. Mr. Olawale Olopade was appointed as the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC). Olopade, an experienced sports administrator, previously served as Ogun State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports and chaired the Local Organising Committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
Dr. Abisoye Fagade was named the Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. Fagade, a seasoned marketing communication expert, is the founder and Managing Director of Sodium Brand Solutions.
Dr. Adebowale Adedokun was appointed as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement. Before his new role, Adedokun served as the Director of Research/Training and Strategic Planning at the same bureau.
Mr. Onanuga stated that these appointments are part of the President’s efforts to enhance the effectiveness of key government agencies. He added that Tinubu expects the newly appointed officials to carry out their duties with dedication, patriotism, and a commitment to excellence.
These appointments come as part of President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to restructure his administration and improve governance in critical sectors.
The newly appointed officials are expected to assume their roles immediately.
