President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday departed Nigeria for Paris, France, on a two-week working visit aimed at assessing his administration’s mid-term performance and strategic reforms.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the visit will provide an opportunity for the President to review key milestones and ongoing reforms as he approaches the second anniversary of his administration.
The statement, titled ‘President Tinubu to Embark on Working Visit to Paris,’ was released on Wednesday.
The President’s convoy was seen departing his official residence around 11:00 am local time. The visit, the statement noted, will be a period of reflection and strategic planning to deepen existing reforms and accelerate national development priorities.
The Presidency highlighted recent economic strides, including a significant increase in net foreign exchange reserves to $23.11 billion, up from $3.99 billion in 2023.
This increase, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria, reflects the impact of fiscal reforms introduced under Tinubu’s leadership.
Despite his absence from the country, Tinubu is expected to remain actively engaged with his team and continue to oversee governance activities.
The President is scheduled to return to Nigeria in approximately two weeks.
