Tinubu Returns to Abuja After China, UK Visits

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following an official visit to China and a brief stay in the United Kingdom, according to a statement from his special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

During his time in China, Tinubu held bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, culminating in the signing of five memoranda of understanding between Nigeria and China.
He also attended the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing, where, as chairman of ECOWAS, he delivered a paper emphasizing the importance of multilateralism and cooperation for global peace.

The president concluded his visit to China with a meeting with the Nigerian diaspora in the country, where he discussed the necessity of ongoing reforms in Nigeria. He expressed optimism that these reforms would lead to improved infrastructure, including better roads, stable power supply, and quality education.

Following his China trip, Tinubu traveled to London, where he met with King Charles III. Their discussions focused on climate change and related actions.

President Tinubu departed Nigeria for China on August 29, with his official engagements in China commencing on September 2.
