Tinubu Set to Reshuffle Cabinet, Aide Confirms

President Bola Tinubu has expressed plans to reshuffle his cabinet, according to the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The announcement was made to State House correspondents on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Onanuga stated that Tinubu’s decision is aimed at enhancing the administration’s performance, though no specific timeline for the reshuffle has been provided. He added that ministers have been directed to improve public engagement and highlight their achievements.

“The President has expressed his desire to reshuffle his cabinet and will do it. I don’t know whether he wants to do it before October 1, but he will surely do it,” Onanuga said.

Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Digital Strategy, O’tega Ogra, also noted that the reshuffle would be based on performance reviews, as earlier indicated by the President during a ministerial retreat.

Former Atiku Abubakar campaign spokesperson, Daniel Bwala, commenting on the development, emphasized that only Tinubu has the authority to decide which ministers will remain or leave. He dismissed any speculation as mere second-guessing.

The position of Spokesperson to the President remains vacant after Ajuri Ngelale’s resignation. Rumors have surfaced suggesting Bwala as a potential replacement, though he has denied knowledge of any official move in this direction.

Tinubu has been in office for over a year, with aides stating that the government has made significant economic strides that are not fully recognized by the public.
