World Leaders Congratulate Donald Trump on Historic Election Victory

Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election has sparked congratulatory greetings from world leaders, with many expressing their eagerness to work with the incoming administration.

Trump’s win marks a historic moment, as he becomes the first president in over a century to win a non-consecutive term.

China’s foreign ministry spokeswoman, Mao Ning, emphasized the importance of “peaceful coexistence” and “mutual respect” in China-US relations, while refraining from directly mentioning Trump. Ning stated that China respects the choice of the American people and will continue to approach relations based on principles of mutual respect and win-win cooperation.

In contrast, Russia’s response was more measured. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that Russia would judge Trump’s administration based on “concrete steps and concrete words,” given the US’s status as an “unfriendly country.”

Other leaders were more effusive in their praise. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed Trump’s victory as a “huge victory” and a “powerful recommitment” to the US-Israel alliance.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Trump on his “impressive victory” and expressed hope that his presidency would bring “just peace” closer to Ukraine.

NATO Chief Mark Rutte and European Union leader Ursula von der Leyen also offered congratulations, emphasizing the importance of a strong transatlantic agenda and the alliance between the US and Europe. French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to work with Trump “with respect and ambition,” while German Chancellor Olaf Scholz vowed to continue promoting prosperity and freedom.

In the Middle East, leaders from Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt offered congratulations and expressed hopes for strengthened relations.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Trump’s “historic election victory” and looked forward to renewing collaboration.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also extended their congratulations.

As the international community adjusts to the new US administration, financial markets have responded positively to Trump’s victory.

The US election has been marked by intense polarization, with Trump’s campaign deepening divisions within the country. Despite this, world leaders seem eager to engage with the incoming administration.
