POLITICS- A Labour Party (LP) aspirant in the upcoming gubernatorial election in Imo State scheduled for November 11, Chief Humphrey Anumodu, has been reported dead a day after attending a meeting at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja on Friday.
Associates of the politician said he was found dead inside his house in Lagos. Anumudu’s death was said to be a spiritual attack and a mystery.
Anumudu, who was also the Chief Executive Officer of Globe Motors, had been vying for the number one seat in the State since 1998 under the umbrella of various political parties including the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) without any success.
However, he had just recently procured his governorship interest form at Abuja and had a likely chance of winning the LP’s primaries slated for early next month before he was found dead.
At the time of filing this report, no official statement had been made by the Anumudu family nor his party.
