After a viral video of a woman destroying her husband’s international passport the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has launched a formal investigation.
The emergence of the video on social media reveals that the incident took place at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The woman has been identified and summoned for questioning. If the investigation confirms the allegations, her actions could be deemed a violation of Section 10(b) of the Immigration Act 2015 (as amended), which outlines penalties under Section 10(h) of the same Act.
The NIS reaffirmed its dedication to enforcing the Immigration Act to maintain national security and uphold the integrity of the country’s legal documents.
