A group, Kogi Youth Mobilization Networks in APC (KYMN-APC) has assured the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) that the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello will not dump the party despite his continued persecution by the Economic, Financial and other Crimes Commission (EFCC) ochestrated by the enemies within the party.
This is coming just as the group in a statement it issued in Lokoja on Saturday by its Convener, Mr. Sunday Mike Babatunde, also assured that the former governor will still continue to support the Bola Ahmed Tinubu led government.
Babatunde in the statement he issued on behalf of the group stated that the continued persecution of the former governor by the anti-graft agency is uncalled for considering his contributions to the formation and growth of the APC as a political party since 2014.
“We as a group within the APC have found the need to intervene in the face off between the EFCC and former Governor Yahaya Bello and we have come to the conclusion that it is nothing more than witch hunt by the EFCC who we believe are acting the script of some people within and outside the government,” the group wrote.
According to KYMN also stated that “It is quite unfortunate that Alhaji Yahaya Bello is being subjected to undue harassment by the EFCC but knowing the former governor very well, he won’t dump the party. He won’t because of his immense contributions to the party since inception.
“We are also glad to tell all those who matter Alhaji Yahaya Bello, alongside other stakeholders like ours will continue to support and work not only for the party but also for the government of President Bola Tinubu administration to succeed,” the group concluded.
