Ondo LG Poll: Police Restrict Movement On Saturday

The Ondo State Police Command has announced a restriction on vehicular and motorcycle movement from 6am to 4pm on Saturday in preparation for the local government election. This directive, issued by the state’s police commissioner, Mr Wilfred Afolabi, is aimed at ensuring a secure environment for the election process. The restriction is intended to prevent any potential security breaches and maintain order during the voting period.

The police commissioner, Mr Wilfred Afolabi, has advised commuters passing through the state to plan ahead, as there will be restrictions in place. However, certain groups, including security personnel, health workers, firefighters, and other essential service providers, will be exempt from the restrictions and allowed to move freely to perform their duties. Additionally, emergency cases will also be permitted to move during the restricted period.

He said, “We urge all eligible voters to abide by the rules guiding the electoral process while carrying out their civic duties.”

Potential troublemakers are warned to stay away, as all necessary measures are in place to quickly address any wrongdoing.

All machinery are in place to nip any untoward act as they raise their ugly heads,” he said.

The Commissioner of Police also stated that sufficient security has been arranged to protect people and resources, ensuring a smooth election process.
