On Thursday, the Senate confirmed the appointment of Capt. Chris Ona Najomo as the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
His confirmation came after the Senate Committee on Aviation presented its report during plenary. The committee’s chairman, Sen. Buhari Abdulfatai (APC-Oyo), stated that Najomo had undergone a thorough screening process and was found suitable for the role.
According to Abdulfatai, Najomo’s appointment was based on his extensive experience and significant contributions to the aviation industry.
He called on the Senate to approve the committee’s recommendations for Capt. Chris Ona Najomo’s confirmation as the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Senator Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno) also spoke in support of the nomination, stating that while he was not a member of the aviation committee, he found Najomo’s credentials impressive. He also noted that there were no negative security reports against the nominee from relevant agencies.
Monguno joined in urging the Senate to approve the committee’s recommendations.
Following this, the Senate officially confirmed Najomo’s appointment as the Director General of the NCAA.
