Access Bank Fires Staff Member for Secretly Filming Colleagues, Collaborates with Law Enforcement

Access Bank has terminated the employment of a staff member accused of secretly filming colleagues in the bank’s restrooms. The incident, which has sparked widespread concern, led to the bank’s management escalating the matter to the appropriate authorities for a thorough investigation.

“We uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and any form of privacy violation,” the bank stated. “We are fully cooperating with the authorities and engaging with affected employees to provide all necessary support.”

The accused, identified as Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, a former quality assurance specialist at the bank’s Oniru, Lagos contact center, allegedly recorded hundreds of video clips of colleagues in the female restroom. He was reportedly caught in the act around 1:30 am on Wednesday.

While the bank has taken swift action by terminating Ejezie’s employment, some affected staff members have expressed concerns about seeking justice. Access Bank reassured stakeholders that the safety, dignity, and well-being of employees and customers remain its highest priority.

The bank thanked stakeholders for their concern and support, urging the public to rely on official updates as investigations continue.
