‘VivaFemini Will Help Women Detect Pregnancy Danger, General Health Checker, Guide throughout Pregnancy Journey’

The mobile-first digital health platform, VivaFemini,  a user-friendly app built to revolutionise maternity, reproductive, and prenatal care for over 250 million African women, has revealed plans to launch its complete pocket-friendly women’s wellness package, which also includes a general health checker and a pregnancy risk detector to reduce the burden of maternal mortality in Nigeria and Africa.

Speaking during an exclusive radio interview recently, Felix Bomide, the Visioner of VivaFemini and Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, explained that maternal mortality is preventable when women have access to information and clinical professionals who are ready to provide solutions.

He bragged that VivaFemini is not only providing wellness packages, but also has on board a good number of licensed health professionals who will offer live health-related consultations through VivaFemini’s telehealth platform.

He said: “Unfortunately, Nigeria still has one of the highest mortality rates as we speak. At VivaFemini, we understand that maternal mortality has different factors, and our platform has been built to provide solutions to the causes. Some of the causes include delayed access to care and early detection, especially for women in less urban areas. With VivaFemini, we have our early risk detection, symptom checkers and red flag alerts that connect our clinicians with our users within minutes, such that the concerns with early detection are mitigated.

“We also have a system of using our ambassador network, seamless referrals that directly addressed this delay, which led to an increase in MMR. We are bringing awareness and access closer to women. There is no point why a young lady dying because she lacked access to early detection of concerns about her pregnancy.

“We also have our Integrated Care Pathways (ICP), which includes guided care plans, appointment scheduling, automated reminders, lab integrations and continuous education. At VivaFemini, our health education is essential to ensure that all women are consistently guided throughout their pregnancy journey and their health outcomes when it comes to their pregnancy.

“At VivaFemini, our communication education tool is delivered in local languages – Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa. Even in pidgin and when we start scaling up to other African countries, then we will be considering top local speaking languages to ensure that our health information library is culturally rich content that will reduce mortality rate in Nigeria and beyond.

“VivaFemini is an all-in-one ecosystem that has been designed for women from puberty to ageing. It includes tracking their health. For example, reproductive health – pregnancy tracking tools, fertility wellness symptoms checkers, which help them to track their health to reproductive, sexual and general health management. From the tracking system, they are able to access clinicians, licensed and vetted healthcare professionals, through our telehealth platform.

“Our professionals have gone through a series of screenings in the course of onboarding to ensure our users are safe in their hands and that they are providing the best care to our users. VivaFemini is a safe, anonymous, discreet, well-packaged community forum. Individuals can come onto the platform and engage with one another and ask questions to our experts. We want to ensure that women are safe when asking questions that pertain to them.

When asked about the uniqueness of VivaFemini, Bomide emphasised that while other apps use Artificial Intelligence (AI), VivaFemini is not AI but a wellness app with licensed health professionals who are ready to provide top-notch services to users.

“VivaFemini is an app that will be launched in the coming weeks. It has been designed for easy download, and our women can enjoy the products the way they want. On privacy, security and compliance, we are ensuring that VivaFemini will stick to our community rules, and also, we are not just here to provide general services, but their data is secure with us, and they are getting solutions.

“VivaFemini is not giving Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions; we have partnered with real licensed professionals. Not only doctors. We have nurses, midwives, therapists, clinical psychologists and a good number of professionals who have been vetted on the scope of practice to ensure that solutions are provided for our women.

“Unfortunately, some women struggle to get reliable information about their health. Yes, we are using AI, but our AI doesn’t provide solutions. It’s just a decision-guided tool that provides insight into the input of the users and prompts them to seek help from one of our vetted professionals. VivaFemini is not an AI tool; our women will be speaking to real licensed Healthcare professionals.

We are already partnering with some good healthcare facilities in Lagos and outside Lagos,” he said.

He urged women to join the VivaFemini waitlist ahead of the official launch.

“We want to ensure that we provide access to millions of women with preventive and primary healthcare support. To sign up and get set for our products, which will launch January 12, 2026, they should visit our website (www.vivafemini.org) and join our waitlist. For those looking forward to partnering with us, they can via our [email protected].”
