The Oyo State Government has commenced the demolition of a building allegedly used as a hideout by kidnappers who abducted the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin children.
The victims were kidnapped last Wednesday and were subsequently rescued by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force on Saturday following security operations.
Reports from Ibadan indicate that government officials moved heavy equipment to the property on Monday to begin the demolition exercise.
The building is located within Lakoun Estate along Olomi-Olojuoro Road in Oluyole Local Government Area.
The demolition is being carried out by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation in collaboration with police operatives.
The action comes amid heightened efforts by the state government and security agencies to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.
Authorities are yet to release a detailed statement on the demolition or provide further information regarding investigations into the kidnapping incident.
