Dr. Oluwafikayo Adeyemi- Benson also known as Fikayo Benson, a medical practitioner and philanthropist, is providing free healthcare services to underserved communities in Osun State and other parts of the country through targeted outreach programmes and medical support initiatives.
Benson, through the Benson Adeyemi Foundation (BAF), has organised medical outreaches where residents receive free check-ups, consultations, and medications. The interventions are aimed at addressing limited access to healthcare, particularly among vulnerable populations who cannot afford basic medical services.
The outreaches, held periodically across communities, have enabled early diagnosis of illnesses and access to treatment for beneficiaries, many of whom are seeing a doctor for the first time in years. In addition, Benson ensures continuous monitoring of patients with serious health conditions, providing follow-up care to improve recovery outcomes.
Beyond BAF, Benson also supports healthcare access through the Sage and Enamel Foundation (SANDEF) by funding The Smiling Soul Initiative (TSSI). Through the initiative, hospital bills of indigent patients are paid, allowing them to receive treatment and leave medical facilities without financial constraints.
The interventions are designed to reduce the burden of healthcare costs and improve health outcomes, particularly for low-income families.
In addition to healthcare delivery, Benson mentors undergraduates by providing guidance on leadership, personal development, and career growth, with the aim of preparing them for future responsibilities.
