Ibadan-Based Politician Urges Fellow Politicians to Prioritize Masses’ Welfare

An Ibadan-based politician, Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku has made an impassioned plea to politicians nationwide to suspend their 2027 election ambitions and focus on alleviating the widespread suffering of Nigerians.

Ajanaku attributed the country’s deteriorating situation to misdirection, misplaced priorities, and lack of trust in leaders.

Speaking to journalists in Ibadan, he highlighted the devastating impact of hunger and scarcity of essential commodities on millions of citizens, describing it as a social problem threatening the fabric of society. Ajanaku also expressed concern over the growing humanitarian crisis.

He criticized politicians for prioritizing campaigns and media appearances over the needs of the masses, emphasizing that local governments must address community suffering.

Ajanaku acknowledged President Tinubu’s leadership capabilities but stressed the need for collective action.
“Millions of Nigerians are suffering terribly,” Ajanaku said.
“The hardship has reached a critical point; we must act now.” He advocated for discreet and meaningful giving, prioritizing community needs over publicity.

Ajanaku concluded by urging politicians to unite in liberating Nigerians from poverty, eradicating social vices, and restoring peace. His appeal emphasized the shared responsibility of politicians to address the nation’s pressing issues.
