Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has shocked fans and the entertainment industry by announcing his separation and divorce from his wife, Annie Idibia.
In a video shared on his Instagram handle on Sunday, 2Baba revealed that he and Annie have been separated for a while and have filed for divorce. He said he would grant a press release soon to share his side of the story and clear the air on the divorce’s circumstances.
However, in a bizarre twist, an Instagram post claiming that 2Baba’s account had been hacked was shared, sparking controversy among fans. The post claimed that efforts were being made to regain control of the account.
But in a subsequent post, 2Baba clarified that his account had not been hacked and that his initial announcement about the divorce was true.
The news of the divorce has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, as 2Baba and Annie have been considered one of Nigeria’s most beloved celebrity couples. They have two daughters, Isabella and Olivia, born in 2008 and 2014, respectively.
The couple married in 2012, having a private ceremony followed by a white wedding in Dubai in March 2013.
