Lagos State Governorship Aspirant, National Rescue Movement NRM, Hon. Akinwunmi Braithwaite has called on Nigerians to stop being dumb as the 2023 general elections draw near.
Akinwunmi Made the call while addressing members of the Online Reporters Association of Nigeria ORAN 3rd Year anniversary, at Lagos Oriental Hotel Victoria Island Lagos.
Speaking on the result of Good governance, he said Nigerians should vote with the genuineness of heart to enjoy the real benefit.
“A government has a major responsibility and is to deliver good governance to its people, but in a situation where there is nothing like this, the people need to wise up and vote wisely been the only power they have.” He said
He added that the media industry especially online reporters needs to help society with accurate information, charging members to engage more in investigative journalism, as it becomes a major need of our society in a time like this.
Also delivering his keynote address, Aarebinrin Honorable Princess Folashade Olabanji, Vice Chairman Ikorodu Local government, charge the youth to ignore the statement ‘Leaders Of Tomorrow’, that it is time to lead.
“Youth should not just be leaders of tomorrow, but today in order to have a society we want and Nigeria we all clamor for”.
She also encourages the youth to shun instant gratifications and learn to add great values to society.
“Make every day, a day to learn and unlearn, and as a journalist society expects more from us than doing the normal day-to-day activities, it is time to go beyond the surface and dig deep.
