Politics – Archbishop Ariwodor Urges President Tinubu to Resign Amid Economic Crisis and Nationwide Protests

The National Chairman of the Abia State Elders Consultative Forum and recently elected World President of the International College and Council of Bishops and Apostles (ICCOBA) in Dublin, Archbishop Professor Princewill Ariwodor, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign if he cannot address the worsening Nigerian economy.

In an interview with Vanguard following nationwide protests against hunger and poor governance, Ariwodor criticized Tinubu’s administration for exacerbating economic hardships with anti-people policies. He argued that Tinubu should not have assumed leadership if he was unprepared to tackle the nation’s challenges.

Ariwodor emphasized that the current economic situation is unprecedented in its severity, stating that previous leaders managed the economy more effectively. He asserted that the economy was in a better state when Tinubu took over from Buhari, but has since deteriorated significantly under his administration.

He also warned the government against using force to suppress peaceful protests, describing such actions as undemocratic. He insisted that Nigerians have the right to protest and called for urgent measures to revamp the economy.

“The economic decay we are witnessing is unparalleled,” Ariwodor said. “Tinubu should step down if he cannot fix the economy. the people are suffering, and it’s time for the truth to be acknowledged.”
