The Kabba GYB Network, a support group loyal to former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has rejected the senatorial aspiration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf.
The group’s spokesman, Mr. Ayodele Gbenga Adedayo, made the position known while addressing newsmen in Lokoja.
Adedayo accused Hon. Yusuf of having a history of betrayal and ingratitude, insisting he cannot be trusted.
“We shall avoid what Sen. Karimi did to our boss. Our leader, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, is a godly individual, but whenever he supports people, they betray him,” he said.
He stressed that neither the All Progressives Congress (APC) nor the GYB political family would support Yusuf’s ambition.
“So, our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and our political family of GYB won’t support him. We are optimistic our candidate, Hon. Samuel Bamidele Aro, will secure the ticket. We will not support another betrayer,” Adedayo declared.
The group therefore distanced itself from Yusuf’s contest, saying it would not back individuals who would betray their leader.
Adedayo maintained that supporting Yusuf would amount to repeating the alleged betrayal of former Governor Bello by the incumbent Senator for Kogi West, Senator Sunday Karimi.
