Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday suspended the hearing of the case filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Ezekiel Onyedikachi, also known as Eezee Tee, citing an “administrative” procedure.
The EFCC filed a four-count charge against Onyedikachi for alleged fraudulent conversion.
During Thursday’s hearing, Chikaosolu Ojukwu, SAN, and Dr. Monday Ubani, SAN, represented Onyedikachi, while Bilikisu Buhari appeared for the EFCC.
Onyedikachi, who was absent at the previous court session, was present in court this time.
After the parties announced their appearances, Justice Owoeye informed them of an ongoing administrative procedure related to the case, stating that he could not make any pronouncements until it was concluded.
“There is an administrative procedure going on in this case, and until it is completed, I cannot make any pronouncement on it,” he said.
The judge also denied Mr. Ojukwu’s request for parties to maintain the status quo pending the completion of the procedure.
He then adjourned the case to May 14.
