Lagos State Police Command in a piece of recent information has said it will prosecute Nigerian musician, Buju BNXN, for spitting on a police officer.
The spokesman of the Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, states the development on his Twitter handle.
Hundeyin said this as a reaction to a post on Buju’s Twitter handle, with the video of the altercation with the policemen having gone viral earlier in the day.
The police spokesman said: “@BNXN proudly tweeted that he ‘spat in [sic] a police officer’s face and it felt so good.’
“He has since deleted the tweet.
“The police officers will be sanctioned for their misbehavior if established, while @BNXN will surely answer for his assault on a police officer.”
In a video that went viral, Buju was seen in just his singlet confronting the policemen who had blocked his car with their patrol van.
