Tinubu Appoints New Heads for Key Humanitarian and Social Development Agencies

President Bola Tinubu has appointed seven new leaders to head strategic agencies under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.

The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

The new appointees are; Badamasi Lawal, who will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency. Lawal, a former commissioner in Katsina State, holds a doctorate in education.

Funmilola Olotu has been named the Programme Manager of the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office. She holds a master’s degree in business administration and is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries.

Aishat Alubankudi will take on the role of Programme Manager for the Grant for Vulnerable Groups. She has a bachelor’s degree in community development and experience as a risk assessor and financial manager.

Aderemi Adebowale, appointed as Programme Manager of the Home Grown School Feeding program, holds a doctorate and is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement.

Abdullahi Imam is the new Programme Manager of the National Cash Transfer Office. He has a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and experience as a chief accountant and bank manager.

Ayuba Gufwan, who holds an LLB, has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for People with Disabilities. He is the executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre in Jos.

Lami Bello has been named the Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons. Bello, with a master’s degree in public administration, has served as the Secretary-General of ALGON and as Permanent Secretary in various federal ministries, including Health and Women Affairs and Social Development.

Ngelale stated that these appointments are aimed at facilitating relief to Nigerians and ensuring the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programs.
