A community-wide medical outreach and cancer awareness campaign is set to take place on August 8, 2025, at Kayom Community, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
Organized by Project Your Health Matters, a non-profit health initiative, the event aims to provide free and accessible healthcare to underserved Nigerians.
The outreach, scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., will offer a range of services, including free general medical consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, malaria tests, cancer screenings, and distribution of free medications. The event will also feature health talks on preventive care, nutrition, and hygiene.
Dr. Kingsley Iwuoha, founder of Project Your Health Matters, emphasized the importance of bridging the gap in access to healthcare for underserved communities. “Our mission is to restore dignity and promote preventive healthcare for all,” he said.
The outreach will include free breast and cervical cancer screenings for women and PSA tests for men, in partnership with Lakeshore Cancer Center. Mr. Abumchukwu Ezeilo, a colorectal cancer survivor, will co-host the event and emphasize the importance of early detection. “Early detection saved my life,” he shared. “I want others to know they can beat cancer too, if caught early.”
The event is being supported by Nigeria Info Radio, Silverbird TV, and businesstimes.ng, which will provide media coverage and visibility. Project Your Health Matters is calling on corporate organizations, NGOs, and individuals to partner with them by donating medical supplies or offering financial support.
By providing accessible healthcare and promoting preventive measures, Project Your Health Matters aims to create a society where no one is left behind due to financial or geographic barriers to care.
