The International African Energy, Oil and Gas Summit (IAEOGS) will return to Windhoek from October 6–9, 2025, bringing together the biggest names in the global energy industry to spotlight Africa’s vast potential and attract record investment into the continent’s oil, gas, and renewable sectors.
Now in its fourth edition, IAEOGS has grown into Africa’s premier energy investment platform. Backed by the Nigerian Ministry of Petroleum, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, and major private sector players, the 2025 summit promises a packed program of high-level sessions, exhibitions, awards, and networking opportunities.
This year’s theme, “Getting it Right,” highlights Africa’s urgent need to convert abundant natural resources into sustainable economic growth and energy access. With over 125 billion barrels of proven oil reserves and 620 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, Africa is home to some of the world’s largest untapped resources. Yet more than 600 million Africans still lack access to reliable electricity—a paradox the summit seeks to address.
Hon. Justice Suleiman Galadima (rtd.), Chairman of APM, said the summit would build on previous successes. “IAEOGS 2025 will be bigger and better as we bring together industry leaders and foster collaboration for a more resilient African energy landscape.”
Billions in Opportunities
The investment case for Africa has never been stronger. In 2024 alone, the continent’s energy sector attracted over $120 billion, with $75 billion dedicated to oil and gas. Indigenous oil companies are increasingly driving this momentum—now controlling 35% of operations across Africa, up from 20% a decade ago. In Nigeria, local producers account for more than 50% of crude output, a milestone driven by new facilities like Green Energy International’s fully indigenous onshore export terminal at Otakikpo. The company is this year’s Gold Sponsor.
Namibia, the host nation, has become one of Africa’s hottest energy frontiers after major offshore discoveries by Shell, TotalEnergies, and Galp. While challenges remain, TotalEnergies is targeting first oil from its Venus discovery by 2029, with Galp advancing its Mopane project. These developments have cemented Namibia’s status as a magnet for investors.
